Intramural Official - The official is the backbone and one of the most important jobs within the Intramural Program. Individuals can be assured that this job will provide an escape from the pressures of school and allow one to interact with their fellow students while learning many of the skills that will enhance the student's education. The Intramural Program hires and trains officials for all sports and allows members to become part of a team, meet new friends, have an outlet for support, and have a voice within the Intramural Program. No experience is necessary to become an official. We will train you! Specifc Duties and Responsibilities: - Officiate Intramural activities
- Set up and take down of equipment and supplies
- Oversee participant check in and equipment checkout
- Ensure that Intramural playing area, participants and fans are safe
- Enforce rules of the intramural sports
- Manage the flow of the game
- Educate participants on the rules and conduct expected in intramural sports
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of intramural sports rules and playing area set up
- Must possess good communication skills and the ability to resolve conflicts
- Must posses the ability to run for an extended amount of time
Minimum Georgia State University Hiring Standard:
- Currently enrolled as a student at Georgia State University
- General knowledge of officiating and rules for intramural sports
Intramural Supervisor - The supervisor is responsible for actively supervising the evening intramural activities, facilitate play area openings/closings, record results, and troubleshoot problem areas. The supervisors work closely with the Intramural Graduate Assistant in coordinating and implementing programs and special events. They have the responsibility of staff supervision and customer relations in ensuring a quality program for the Georgia State environment.
Specifc Duties and Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Intramural play area opening and closing
- Set Up and Take Down of Intramural equipment
- Oversee participant check in and equipment checkout
- Provide First Aid and CPR to participants if needed
- Coordinate official and scorekeeper assignments
- Ensure that Intramural playing area, participants and fans are safe
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- First Aid and CPR certification required
- General knowledge of intramural sports rules and playing area set up
- Must possess good communication skills and the ability to resolve conflicts
Minimum Georgia State University Hiring Standard:
- Currently enrolled as a student at Georgia State University
- Previous officiating or scorekeeping experience preferred
Intramural Scorekeeper - The scorekeeper is an essential part of the intramural program. Scorekeepers keep the score and statistics of games as they are played. They are also responsible for checking out equipement, making sure players are signed in and ready to play.
Specifc Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep score and statistics for Intramural events
- Set Up and Take Down of Intramural equipment
- Oversee participant check in and equipment checkout
- Ensure that Intramural playing area, participants and fan are safe
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- General knowledge of intramural sports rules and playing area set up
- Must possess good communication skills and the ability to resolve conflicts
- Basic math skills
